About Waterproof Wristbands

Waterproof paper wristbands usually refer to Tyvek wristbands—a paper-like material made from high-density polyethylene fibers. They are commonly used for access control at concerts, events, water parks, and fan meetings. Tyvek wristbands are water- and sweat-resistant, tear-resistant, and designed for single use.

Key Features of Rewat Printing Wristbands

Choose the Right Wristband

  • One-day events: Single-use Tyvek wristbands are ideal, offering a low cost per piece and easy access control.
  • Water parks or rainy conditions: Choose high-quality Tyvek, as it resists water and sweat better than ordinary paper.
  • Multi-day use or keepsakes: Use fabric or silicone wristbands instead, because Tyvek is designed for single use.
  • Anti-counterfeit access control: Add QR codes, running numbers, or different colors for different participant types.

How to Design a Paper Wristband

Start by designing your Tyvek wristband based on the actual strip size, the visible area on the wrist, and the safe margin. Then add your logo, colors, and text. Submit artwork in CMYK format at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Practical Design Layout

Wristbands are typically 25 mm wide and approximately 254–260 mm long when laid flat. When worn, however, users mainly see the front section of the wrist, about 75–100 mm.

  • Center / front of the wrist:Logo, event name, date, and zone color, such as VIP, Staff, or General
  • Left and right sides:Lines, continuous patterns, QR codes, or running numbers
  • Near the ends:Background patterns or graphics only, because these areas are folded and glued
  • Top and bottom edges:Leave clear space; avoid placing important text or logos there

Layout Guidelines

    • • Use large, bold, short text such as “VIP,” “STAFF,” or “DAY 1.” Avoid long sentences because the space is narrow and must be readable from a distance.
    • • Use high contrast, such as white text on a dark background or black text on a light background, to ensure visibility outdoors.
    • • Make the logo large enough to recognize, but keep at least a 2.5–3 mm margin from the cut line to prevent it from being trimmed off.
    • • For multiple participant types, use the main background color to distinguish groups—for example, blue for General, red for VIP, and green for Staff.
    • • If using a QR code, include a white border around it and test scanning from the actual artwork file before production.

Important Design Tips

    • • Do not design only for one visible section; use a continuous pattern along the full length because the wrist position may vary.
    • • Avoid very thin lines or overly thin fonts, especially for single-color printing. A minimum font size of around 8 pt is recommended.
    • • If brand colors must be accurate, provide Pantone codes or request a color sample before production, since CMYK colors on Tyvek may differ from what appears on screen.
    • • Request a template and mockup from your printer before starting the design, because dimensions, bleed requirements, and folding/gluing methods may vary between suppliers.
